💡 Licensure Note:
K–5 Science license holders may teach one grade up (6th grade).
7–12 Science license holders may teach one grade down (6th grade).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Education or related field
Valid Tennessee Teaching License with Science endorsement
Strong science content knowledge
Demonstrated commitment to Anti-Racism, Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging
A proven track record of motivating and inspiring students to achieve at high levels
Integrity, professionalism, and a growth mindset
Ability to collaborate with a team and communicate effectively
What You’ll Do
As a 6th Grade Science Teacher, you will:
Design and deliver engaging, rigorous lessons aligned with Tennessee State Standards and STEM Prep benchmarks
Create inquiry-driven, hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity in science
Implement strategies and accommodations for ELL and Exceptional Education students
Collaborate with families and community members to support student success
Participate in high-quality professional development and receive ongoing coaching from Academic Deans
Administer and prepare students for state assessments
Contribute to a positive, supportive, and well-managed classroom culture
Model STEM Prep’s values and culture of excellence through leadership and teamwork
